What Prova collects when you take an assessment

• Recordings of the assessment session: audio, webcam video and screen, plus a transcript of the conversation. You are told before the session starts that it is recorded, and you choose whether to continue. • Your work and responses: files, code, drawings and answers you submit, and your conversation with the AI interviewer. • Assessment metadata: timing, completion status and technical information (browser, device and IP address). • Account details: your name, email address and any profile information you choose to add.

What your institution receives

Your instructor and institution receive: • An evaluation of your assessment, based on the rubric your instructor set • The transcript, recordings and analysis of your session • Your score and feedback Your institution owns this data. Prova processes it on the institution’s behalf as a service provider.

How Prova uses AI

Prova uses AI to:
  1. Conduct the assessment: an AI interviewer asks follow-up questions about your work in real time
  2. Analyze your responses: transcripts, recordings and submitted work are evaluated against your instructor’s rubric
  3. Draft a report for your instructor
Your instructor reviews every AI evaluation before it affects you. AI never makes a final academic decision. The AI is provided by companies listed on our subprocessors page, mainly Google (Gemini), OpenAI and ElevenLabs. They process your data only to return results to Prova. They are not allowed to use it to train their AI models, and some keep it for up to 30 days for abuse monitoring. Prova also uses your assessment data to check that the AI is evaluating accurately and to fix technical problems, but never to train AI models.

How long your data is kept

Your data is kept while your institution uses Prova. When your institution’s agreement ends, its data is deleted within 90 days. You or your institution can ask for deletion earlier.

How to access or delete your data

Email [email protected] to request a copy of your data, a correction or deletion. Because your assessment is part of your institution’s education records, we may coordinate the request with your institution. You will receive a confirmation once your request is completed. If you accidentally recorded or uploaded personal information you didn’t mean to share, use the report a privacy issue option in the app and we will remove it.

Things Prova does not do

Prova does not: • Share your assessment with any institution other than the one that requested it • Sell your data, use it for advertising, or build marketing profiles • Use your data to train AI models, or allow our AI providers to do so • Use your recordings for facial or voice recognition
